P.E.

‘An active mind cannot exist in an inactive body. Physical Education makes every child stronger and every life longer.’

General George S. Patton

At All Saints Church of England Primary School, we aim to inspire all children and for each child to fulfil their potential. We want the children’s experience of PE to be positive and motivating. PE enables pupils to become physically confident. This supports their health, wellbeing and fitness and provides the foundations for lifelong activity. We want them to succeed and excel in competitive sport and physical activities. We offer all children chances to compete in sport and other activities. This helps them build character and learn values such as fairness and respect. Through PE, we develop children’s knowledge, skills and understanding. They build confidence and competence in a range of activities.

In addition to this, we also share the views and aspirations of Swim England, that swimming is a sport that anyone and everyone can enjoy throughout their lives. We value the importance of swimming not only as a sport and valuable form of exercise, but also for its importance as a life-saving skill. We endeavour to ensure that all children have the best opportunity to develop their confidence and capabilities in and around water, as we believe that this is vital to children’s safety, health and happiness.
