Geography

“Geography explains the past, illuminates the present and prepares us for the future. What could be more important than that?”

Michael Palin

Geography helps us to understand the world we live in. It helps us to ask and provide answers to questions about the natural and human aspects of the world. At All Saints, our children are encouraged to develop a greater understanding, appreciation and knowledge of the world, their place in it and how they can care for God’s creation.

The Geography curriculum at All Saints enables children to develop knowledge and skills that are transferable to other curriculum areas and promote their spiritual, moral, social and cultural development.

At All Saints Church of England Primary School we intend to:

  • Inspire children’s curiosity and fascination with the world and people within it,
  • Promote children’s interest in and understanding of diverse places and resources in both natural and human environments and to deepen their understanding of the Earth’s key physical and human processes.
  • Help children to understand how they can care for and improve the environment for all living things
